MOMENT OF CLARITY was formed in the winter of 2007 with Neil, Dale, Andrew and Lindsey joining forces to change the face of Metal in South Africa, bringing Metal out of the bedroom and dark, dingy clubs and onto the mainstream stages where it belongs.

MOMENT OF CLARITY's sound, as confirmed by most, is not so easy to describe - it's Metal - but there's something else to it. We like to refer to our style as Epic/Power Metal. Bringing on influences from the major metal acts that have gone before them, they incorporate blindingly fast riffs, intricate guitar solos, technical prowess, harsh vocals, mixed in with melodic undertones making you want to tap your foot on the ground or at the same time get up and jump in the pit. It's an obscure mix, but obviously one that works.

Almost a year later, and one bassist down, Mark joined the ranks as the replacement bassist bringing a new sound that has forced MOMENT OF CLARITY to evolve as a band as much as their sound has evolved over the year.

MOMENT OF CLARITY enjoys a busy gigging schedule where they bring a vibrant, energetic and intense set to any club they play at, whether it's in front of 50 or 500 people. MOMENT OF CLARITY have dominated all the major venues in Cape Town and have shared the stage with many of Cape Town's finest bands.

MOMENT OF CLARITY is an intense act to watch, heavy but refreshingly melodic at the same time. There's something in their sound for everyone. They bring a maturity to Metal that is not found easily in the genre as we know it today, but be warned... when MOC take to the stage you will 'Respect the Claritaaah!'

Influences: Pantera, Arch enemy, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom.
