Biography
REGICIDE is a Dark Metal band that started in May 2008 under the name Valediction. The band was formed by a few friends who started jamming together for shits and giggles and later decided to form a band to take over the world with METAL! The band doesn’t have a very serious approach, doing this for the love of metal and having a good time although they take making music very seriously.
The name had to change due to a other band from Mexico already using it and it was decided to call the band REGICIDE

The band consists of 6 young metalheadz hailing from Durbanville, Cape Town.

The band is dedicated to creating metal for the desecration of your ears while promoting the music and building the South African Underground scene! Metal is a largely unrecognized genre in South-Africa and we need more coverage and opportunities for up and coming bands like ourselves, while still keeping the scene underground and not to close to the mainstream. We strongly believe in the idea of anti-commercialism and being a band for what we love doing, making metal our way.
Regicide's influences stretch from the melodic and black sounds of bands like Dimmu Borgir and Illnath, to the faster death and thrash elements in bands like The Black Dahlia Murder and Chilldren Of Bodom.
Combining a epic keyboard with fast and medium tempo’d drums, aswell as melodic and chaotic quitar topped with ear-ripping vocals that range from mid to low range and the occasional higher note you end up creating a unique sound witch is in a genre of its own we call dark metal.
We aim to start recording soon and releasing our sound on the public, the band has 6 Full length songs to their name.
