- in 1970 - Four students were killed on the campus of Kent State University by members of the National Guard. Of the four student killed only one was actively taking part in the anti-Vietman war demonstration. The other three were caught in the crossfire as they walked across the campus. The event inspired Neil Young to write "Ohio" which was a hit for Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young of course.
