Disillusion - Back to Times of Splendour		[ Read Article ]
This particular album gave me a lot to think about. Not because I found the music to be particularly thought provoking but because every review I read had such exaltations of awe and majesty. The BBC TV show "The Old Grey Whistle Test" premiered in the UK, distinctly catering for the rock audience. Criticized in the late '70s for being "run by a bunch of old hippies" the show underwent modernisation in 1985, changing it's name to "Whistle Test". The title came from the Edwardian England music publishers' dictum: "If the grey haired music hall doorman was heard whistling your song then it would be a hit."
