Broken Truce decided to record Stonefish and release it as a free download

Broken Truce hit the studio (Redroom Records) this weekend to record Stonefish.

We've decided to make the download available for free as a marketing tool and to give back to the fans who in turn are allowed to share the track.

2Ché live at the Cape St Francis Lifestyle Resort

2ChĂ©, one of Port Elizabeth’s top folk bands will be performing live at the Cape St Francis Lifestyle Resort Theatre on Saturday, December 18, 2010.

The duo have recently finished recording their first album, ‘Play it like it is’ at Fountain Eye Studios and hosted a sold-out album launch in November.

2ChĂ© is one of the most unique combinations of musicians in South Africa, with their main focus on electric bass and voice complemented by rhythm guitar. 2ChĂ© is something that has to be seen to be believed, as one of the Eastern Cape’s top bassists, Andrew Warneke, changes musical focus from the traditional bass line to a chord-and- melody texture.

Animals Rock Festival - Cape Town

The 5th annual Animals Rock Festival will be held outdoors in the a quarry at the Hillcrest Wine Estate just 10 minutes drive from Durbanville, 15 minutes from Table View and 20 minutes from Cape Town.

The Animals Rock Festival is an annual animal welfare fund raiser event held near Cape Town in the Western Cape. It is a Rock Music festival hosted by Animals for Animals.

The 13th of November 2010 marks the 5th event and for the very first time, it will be hosted outdoors. Great bands, large stage, big screens, awesome sound and amazing lighting.

Robertson's Rock of Ages Music Festival

Underground In Events and Promotions now present the "Rock of Ages Music Festival" in aid of the Breede Valley Hospice which supports the people with life theatening and terminally illnesses. These people are ruitinly sent home to die due to the limited resources available in many African hospitals.

Those of you who are lucky enough to remember the 1st and 2nd Robertson Rocks festivals might already be sold on this idea.

Plug And Play 3 Thursday nights @ Full Moon

The Plug & Play initiative got started in 2008 at Café Arc, but really it's something bands have been doing for ages in venues the world over. We had a such a success at Zeplins wonderboom in 2009 that we decided that it is time for Plug & Play 2010 to take place at Full Moon Lounge, Hazelwood.

All of Eternity in conjunction with Marshall Music, Joburg Promusica, Everlast Tattoo, RockingSA and Safi Soundz is putting together a festival for all people in South-Africa that love Hard Rock and Metal.

Master of Rock Review - Cape Town

After a short break, the audience returned to the arena for the long-awaited Deep Purple. The lights went out, and the crowd went mad. After a moment of excited hysteria, the arena fell silent, crackling with anticipation. And then the sound of Prokofiev's dramatic "Montagues and Capulets" filled the arena.

It's not often we have big names performing in South Africa, and even more seldom we have big names worth listening to. Imagine my delight when the rumours of a Deep Purple performance started doing the rounds! Despite the pricey tickets, I figured no price would be too high for the privilege of a live performance from one of my all-time favourites.
