- in 1964 - EMI Records rejected an audition tape by London band, the "High Numbers". The band put out just one single titled "I'm the Face (Zoot Suit)" through the Fontana label before reverting to one of their names from their early days. As "The Who" smashed their way into the charts they gained a reputation as one of the worlds finest live groups.
