- in 1967 - "The Beatles" released "Penny Lane" back with "Strawberry Fields Forever". Although both sides were credited as jointly written it was clear that Penny Lane was mostly Paul's work and Strawberry Fields was primarily John's. A promotional film, shot in Kent and Liverpool, was used to promote the record on TV. Quite usual (though not unique to the Beatles) at the time. In the late '80s it became usual to release a single without an accompanying video.
